Is This You?
You
and your management team agree, in order to continue growing the
business, a
new
direction, strategies and operating values must be established.
You're having difficulty integrating the new plan and aligning
it with the people, structure, and systems.
You
have developed a viable three year operating plan, but are extremely
frustrated because you can't get your team to work together in
executing the plan.
Getting your divisions and/or departments to align their plans
with the company objectives is difficult. The functional groups
don't seem to want to work together and getting managers to be
accountable is impossible.
Your
most recent employee survey indicates a lot of employee job dissatisfaction
and your CFO says employee turnover is having a major impact on
the bottom line.
You
have determined that the employee recruitment process is not working
and the company continues to hire people who are not matched to
the right position. Employees are being promoted to positions
for which they are not trained or qualified.
You
realize in order to stay up with fast changing markets and customer
demands, the company will have to make some significant organizational
changes.
It is clear the organization's structure will have to be modified
to better facilitate the decision making process. You and your
team don't have time to manage it all. You must take more of a
leadership role and delegate the decision making process to those
more qualified and who can respond more quickly to the customer's
needs. You also realize the company has done nothing to develop
managers into leaders or to identify future leaders.
You
feel your top management group is dysfunctional.
They're
afraid to engage in conflict resolution; individual egos and company
politics impact the team's ability to make decisions; the team
doesn't hold individual members accountable for performance; some
team members pay lip-service to supporting group decisions; and,
there is a lack of trust among the team members, thus, they tend
to protect themselves rather than open up, inhibiting their contribution.
Clients
come to us for a multitude of reasons, but mainly because they
have a strong desire to be successful in meeting challenges and
leading their company to long term growth.
Some clients come to Business Builders because they know their
companies need to change in order to be successful in the twenty-first
century. Many clients are struggling to effect change, beginning
with the top management team, and need someone who can bring an
objective view on how to make it happen. Some of our clients realize
they don't have all of the answers and simply want someone outside
their organization to council (it's lonely at the top). A few
of our clients are looking for a more objective way to evaluate
the members of their top management. Many of our clients recognize
the need for a new company vision, strategies, and cultural change.
Most realize they have managers, not leaders and want to develop
a leadership development program.
The kinds of clients we work with.
